Kerry has not offered Edwards anything. Kerry is well ahead and will almost certainly clinch the nomination in two weeks. Edwards staying is a blessing for Kerry as it will keep the free press coverage alive and keep Kerry on his toes. Kerry and Edwards have almost identical policy positions so this is no crusade and there is almost no anti-Kerry sentiment within the party, only amongst Bushies and a few diehard Deanies. Edwards may do well in Georgia, Minnesota and Ohio, but not as well in New York and California. Edwards is still 1 out of 17 and in third place on delegates behind Dean. Yesterday many Republicans voted for Edwards. Kerry's lead amongst Dems was in the mid teens. Not all Dem primaries allow Republicans to vote.
