I agree that open primaries don't make a lot of sense. You should remember though that the same thing happened with Dems in Bush's Republican primary. Were they chickensh*t too?


Yes.

I can see letting independents vote in either a Dem. or Rep. primary but not registered Rep. in a Dem. primary and registered Dems. in a Rep. primary. To me, it just encourages people to play games.
