To be sure, and I accept that on the grounds stated, but obviously, someone who did not credit the revelation to Mahomet might not consider authoritative the passages attesting to the identity. Some, incidentally, would consider Islam to be the most successful heretical Christian sect until the Reformation, incorporating features of Nestorianism and other Unitarianism........
