Jake, I worked intensely my first three years in the Army, often 12 and 15 hour workdays. I didn't know there was a rule that said I could skip the last year or I would have been out of there, along with about 90% of the other troops. <G> But, really, who can help but quote a guy named Turnipseed?

The real problem with Dubya is that he likes to do role playing, and he tries to do this top gun schtick. The fact that the reality pales vs. his own imagination of himself makes it easy to laugh at the guy. I was around in those days. To get into the National Guard took contacts or money. To get into The Air National Guard required contacts and money. To get pilot training with a score of 25 on the pilot's test requires a grandaddy Senator and a daddy Congressman. Even Quayle didn't get that cushy an assignment.

I think the real issue is that Bush didn't kill himself in 2 years of flying. Clearly the dems think he is/was too stupid to learn to fly and should have been a Darwin Award winner. Again, they mis-underestimated the President.
