Like he had just been march thru paces he had no control of . Every animal has its personality and soul , this you know with horses, and they become used to being handled by us , our voices , smell and scents ..and the safety and companionship we afford them. But he still loves to perch near the window where he can sit watching unobserved looking down on the birds undetected thru the blinds . He's a good little Buddha kitty and seems at times only to be the victim of the conditioning of the body he has to occupy driven by the forces & needs of satisfying hunger , safety , the search for companionship ...and alas hopelessly lost to the call of the chirping of those feathered creatures that flicker about in the eve and the am , that tantalize by their high pitched calls and flutterings ...always out of reach that challenge the reason of his claws and speed to catch , like the waters of the moon to high . He has to be drawn to something , and the little feathered winged dinosaurs are always able to set his instinct to capture prey in motion, in the endless game of seek and catch and evade ....or seeking the safety & advantage of the "high perch" (see refuge in the Buddha) ( But if that bird be an eagle or a hawk ,,,then its ---> flight time for kitty ! ) Cats will always be slaves to the refex~response of the bodies they occupy ...but they also represent some degree of domestication and also like to have their dream time too...they can seem great Buddhas at times, which is why we like to have them around, we primates who have domesticated ourselves as well and also found our "dream-times " and things we cannot quite catch a hold of... (but often need more potty training too ) Big Cats also eat people too in India ...so what are you going to do ? Sell their hides for decoration and grind their bones for virility ? Ah...the fear of impotency, which is something usually specific only to humans from too much overeating , drugs , lack of exercise and excess worry . But your spider would never catch my kitty ... he sometimes thinks he is a dog , and is a very alert and fast little doggie in his home turf .... He's a survivor...and stays clean even for all the cars he perches under safely all night , night after night looking out at a cats-eye view of the world. But he's only a cat , and lasts only a little while ...but when Mother Racoon comes with her kits , or even big 120 pound dogs , Kitty is unperturbed and gets along OK.I've kept a few Americans as pets and have enjoyed them immensely!! hope the relationships were satisfying , enlivened your mind , and kept you warm & purring at night . Ah , those American birds & lovely felines . Some of them do make nice pets . Here kitty kitty kitty kitty ....nice kitty . ;)
