Simple, Bush cannot control his spending - this coupled with the tax cuts has resulted in record deficits.

Not responsible government.

Assuming higher tax revenues in a growing economy assumes that the everage incomes for those jobs are at least equal or rising. In this case, they are not. Wages are going down. (Not to mention the war budget)But that's part of the Bushworld Grand Plan anyway, isn't it? Tax cuts for the rich, job creation for the working class at lower wages, destroy organized labor, trim benefits at every opportunity until they become dependent on -whoops!-non-existent taxes for basics like health care. Hmmm. Sounds like WalMart World.

Can't have it both ways. But we can sure dang try.
