Kerry has been hit by GOP attacks for weeks, including the phony sex scandal, the Jane Fonda BS and the net ad. He's also been attacked by Dean. Fair enough. But remember Edwards has not been attacked by anyone yet. So don't get over-optimistic about him. He's vulnerable too if anyone feels the need to go after him.

Millions of dollars in negative attacks plus constant rightwing talk radio attacks bring people down in the polls. If the GOP were gunning for "trial lawyer" Edwards now, plus whatever other dirt they can find on him, he'll wither a bit as well. The attacks on Kerry partly explain the closer than expected race yesterday.

Also, the tendency for Deaniacs to switch to Edwards first before they eventually switch to Kerry. Because Kerry and Dean were fighting it out months ago, Deaniacs are still hurting. But they'll all come around, moderates and independents too. In the end, Kerry and Edwards plus all the others need to team up to win. SO far so good. The CNN poll must have the White House terrified.
