Well, I read the Moveon.org has more members now than the christian right as a voting bloc. The internet might change the landscape a little and marginalize the christian right and their influence.

The advantage the christian right always had was their organization which was already entrenched with the churches. But the internet is facilitating organization of the younger, more liberal crowd.
