Speaking of terminology, it seems that CA will reject the "altered applications" for marriage. As in Canada, (where they are allowing it) the forms still say "bride and groom" and gay couples are crossing these out and putting their own designations in. The ones getting "married" are indeed intent on being accepted on a fully equal basis, there is no mistaking that. They are miffed that they do not have a form that satisfies their sensibilities.

Which is exactly why I used it. We need to stretch leftists (and ourselves) occasionally to think outside of the box on race. "Negro" is much harder for leftists to handle than "House Slave," which makes absolutely no sense at all since both terms are rooted in race and the former term has historically had no ill-meaning at all - unlike the latter term. Let the leftists whine about it. I quite enjoy it in fact. I will simply take occasion to continually point out their hypocrisy.

Btw, I am reading the "heather" thing. Cracks me up! Gotta get to bed.
