Sorry, I disagee.... Eastern Europeans are mostly catholic and the catholic church is very organized and is historically a very powerful controlling force. The church, therefore, is a major opponent or a major part of any government in that part of the world, ie Modern Poland is still offically a Catholic government. I honestly don't know if modern history books describe it as I did, but it would seem to make sense to me... Dictatorships drive out or ban opposition....
