I agree Stephen. The Wash insider wing of Democrat party decided that Al Gore's war photographer military record was on the "lite" side & therefore the fact Kerry saw some true combat would be the clincher with voters in Nov. That's why they've promoted the Bush Nat'l Guard vs Kerry's record to national media. Yet voters have placed Iraq 3rd or 4th on their list of concerns. Voters #1 concern is the economy & jobs in particular that have been lost or currently jeopardized by negative effect of free trade agreements. John Edwards promises to focus on revisions to those poorly negotiated treaties so that middle class USA is not squeezed so badly. Vietnam is not an issue for Edwards since he was too young to be effected. He's 50y/o while Kerry is 60. Edwards will need to choose a VP who strengthens the ticket on national defense concerns of voters.
