Of course....you are exactly correct.....the standard demolib play is always to set people against one and another with these kind of phony issues....those with weak minds fall for this sort of class warfare thing......

Yes, JDN, you're right in almost everything you say. Taxes are all smoke and mirrors. It's spending that counts because it's ALL going to be paid by us. In addition it's fundamentally lame and dishonest for the democrats or the republicans to promise all the programs they promise to get votes. They can't do it within the framework of what we're willing to actually pay for. What's even more dishonest is to promise it, borrow to pay for it, and then call it a tax cut in the process.

The middle class will always pay more in taxes because the middle class, as a group, makes the most income. We should not, however, be forced to pay a progressive tax rate WHEN THE VERY WEALTHY PAY A REGRESSIVE TAX RATE. What would make a politician want to shift the tax burden from the very wealthy to the rest of us????? Could it be campaign finance or the revolving door that politicians walk through? g.

To argue about the wealthys tax rate is IN MY OPINION merely a Democrapic PLOY to keep our eye OFF the ball WHICH IS GOVT SPENDING. The great Alan Greenspan himself worries NOT about tax cuts but GOVT. SPENDING. jdn

JDN...The top 5% of income earners pay approximately 50% of the income taxes.(Latest IRS figures)

The Presidential 2005 budget asked for $256 billion for highway construction. Out of the Senate came a bill for $318 billion which will go to the house, a horrendous increase of $62 billion. The President proposes and the Congress disposes and up, up and away.
Those who blame the President for the budget deficit know the average Joe and Jane hear their BS, but won't hear the truth of why the budget gets out of hand. They depend on the ignorance of the masses. Especially the Demolibs. Josef Goebbels reincarnated. tell a big lie often enough and it becomes the truth.
