Dang, EXCUSE ME, I thought I had it right about the fairness thing when I said the wealthy should pay the same amount of tax per dollar as the rest of us. Little did I know that the "fair" thing to do is to tax on a per-person basis.

In your family it must be a little tough for the infants to come up with their fair share of rent, utilities, food and insurance. Got to teach them "fairness" though. After all, they eat, they need shelter, they need warmth and of course they may need medical care. What's really tough is for them to have to pay their "fair" share of federal taxes on birth, though.

If the kids are a little late on their fair share, let them sell a kidney or something. Can you believe the number of people that don't understand that concept of "fairness?"

You're either way out of touch with any concept of fairness, or you're belatedly trying to justify a position you should never have taken. I hope it's the latter.

PS, when economist talk about "regressive taxes," they ALWAYS refer to percentages of income, not "per person taxes." But hey, don't believe me; look it up.
