OT Sure, fewer car deaths will be great. All I pointed out is that other countries are just as bad as us -- a few a little bit better, most worse.

I think the main reason for car deaths is human behavior: failure to wear seat belts, drinking and driving, driving too fast, etc. I think better roads or safer cars will do little. If you want a law to quickly cut deaths, bring back the 55 mile per hour limit -- and enforce it.
