go ahead and research the bogus household survey but there really isn't any need. Basically all the people that are laid off from high paying white collar jobs have a choice, they can sign up for a $7/hour job at walmart, OR they can try to make a go of day trading or selling things over ebay. The latter option means you show up as a statistic on the "household survey" as employed. It is completely bogus, which is why Alan Greenspan said it should be ignored.

Unfortunately people like Jack Welch are in denial that they can't offshore essentially their entire company and not impact the US economy, so they whine and cry "the survey is wrong". No matter, the GOP is between a rock and a hard place on this and they will lose the pres and at least part of the congress over it. Just like that Kerr candidate from Kentucky who Bush was campaigning for! LOL.
