If they are treated as costs, everything would be deductible in one year and would be a dream come true for profitable companies. That would take care of taxes.....

If the company simply cannot depreciate the building over the life, it would cause taxes to increase and therefore be a detriment to the company, and the company would have to decide if it is best to stay in the US and pay wages that are many times higher here and take the depreciation...or move abroad and save wages and fear of too much litigation. I also suspect that companies would lend money to a foreign corporation to get around this. There are holes in the idea, and I fundamentally am against it, but I do think that the concept when worked on for some time could become a deterrent. Interesting thought.
