General elections have been called by the party on power. They requested the President to dissolve the Parliament and call for new elections. The President, in keeping with his constitutional duties, obliged. THis is a election called before the term of the existing parliament expires.

With the election season in swing, the haggling for support between numerous fragmented parties ensues. The Communist parties who hold sway over labor then organize work slowdowns to show off their power. They have the potential to paralyze the public system etc. And American capitalism does not like that sort of political instability and corruption. IN China, the communist dictatorship has full control and they can control the situation to ensure American capitalists don't flee. In India it is anybody's rule.
