I have to say something very politically incorrect here.

The reason why we are not in a depression right now is simple: extreme fiscal and monetary stimulation.

The much maligned and spat upon Greenspan and Bush have been doing exactly the correct thing IMHO.

They are doing exactly what Hoover and then Roosevelt should have done in the late twenties and thirties. The great depression could have been avoided.

Hope this does not start a big political free for all (I hate politics).

Yogi...I find Kondratieff fascinating. I am still tossed between inflation and deflation though. Can we split the difference and call it stagflation? I'll look for confirmation when disco and odd-even gas days are back in. ROFL!
