Most of the statements about 'whiners', although perhaps true in some specific cases, rather beg the larger question of how best to maximize the potential of the US economy, and the American people, vs. the rest of the world. There are no suggestions for how to improve ANYTHING in either of those two links you posted, and --- as everyone knows --- there is nothing perfect on this Earth, and there is always room for improvement. Reforming our massively complex and corrupt tax system would be one of the first suggestions I'd make....
