When without serious exploration with me on my view you simply assume "The only way we can see essential human character is by abstracting from our experience of human beings, preferably in the exemplary form of a mature adult.", it becomes most obvious to me that further dialog with you on this issue is utterly futile. A "mature adult" is completely arbitrary and yet you wallow around in such arbitrariness as if it is all objective, as if you and I have an ipso facto mutual understanding of this meaning. It is hopeless. I think we might end this amicably, Neo. Let's just agree not to discuss it. Do you still live in D.C.?
