Yep, I heard the same thing (I think it was on NOW but I'm not sure), that feeling of exhaustion on the parts of parents isn't from too many visits to the spa.

Even though people make more money (in dollars) than their parents, it doesn't buy as much. Homes and cars eat up much more than any increase in pay and the second income quickly gets taken over by the need for a second car and daycare.

Plus, in the age of so much divorce, women can't afford to not work just in case they have to split the household in two. All-in-all, if Shrubbery is going to moan about gay marriages, he should defend marriage by trying to get a constitutional ammendment passed that outlaws divorces and nonsupport of minors.
