So to be clear you think a flat tax is unfair because it taxes the top too much, right? <<Yes, I do. Money ain't free. You WORK for it.>> Those 75% of American workers that pay more in payroll taxes than in income taxes all work. Do you think people who work full time for $10-20 an hour are lazy somehow? I'd look at taxes like insurance. The more you're worth the more insurance you need, the higher your premiums. We need a strong army to protect our wealth from poorer nations who might want to come over and take it. Obviously the wealthy have a lot more to lose and ought to pay more. The system works great for the wealthy. They have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo, in maintaining domestic tranquility and promoting the general welfare. They have more to lose if the system fails. <<You clearly think it is to proportianately take HUGE sums of wealth from our succesful citizens and give it to another group.>> But it's Bush and the Republicans who are adding another huge benefit to LBJ's Medicare.
