Fair enough. Yes, we are in a position of trying to avoid a civil war in the aftermath of regime change, which is dangerous. On the other hand, we are largely trying to establish the correct conditions and allow security concerns to devolve on Iraqis. Even if we had not been involved, the mess was dangerous and might easily drag us in.

Yes, in fact Dubya has reversed himself. In his favor is the fact that it is anticipated that Iraq will be able to largely manage its own affairs in a relatively short period. Also, it is not a sin to change opinion..........
