Kerry will not turn us over to the UN. Kerry (or Edwards) will return to the fairly consistent American foreign policy followed by every President from Truman to Clinton. George W. Bush is the outlier, not Kerry (or Edwards).

Edwards and Kerry have almost exactly the same exit plan from Iraq.

Re: We need to fix it but not give up on it. We certainly don't need to turn it over to the UN candidate--John Kerry.

Ann,

Has anyone ever mention you may not be playing with a full deck? Where in the world do you get this silliness about John Kerry and the UN? I've never read such ridiculous and useless charges against him.

The UN is effectively neutered by the fact that its very existence depends upon the mood and charity of the U.S. Congress. No President could ever overcome the pathetic strain of nationalism that ruined the League of Nations and continually threatens the existence of the UN.

While the UN has created a vast panoply of useful organizations such as Unicef, WHO and others, in the meantime we have a nefarious Congress passing black budgets for CIA operations at disrupting democracy across the globe, and the infamous (though hardly understood) activities of deceitful and cagey operations like the National Endowment for Democracy which is being used today to stifle democracy from Haiti, to Venezuela to the Middle East.

Why in the world you fear the UN, which is benign (while supporting the nefarious and underhanded operations of the U.S. government) is beyond my comprehension.

Don't you get it? The U.S. government is a wholly owned subsidiary of about 50 major corporate interests who will destroy our collective future for the silly sake of greater profits for the rich.

You do understand how your government has been stolen from you, right? Oh, never mind. I forgot. You are part of the No-Nothing Party. Sorry for trying to bother your dream-state and somnolence.
