I don't recall widespread handgun ownership in America being able to prevent the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour.

Australia suffered a Japanese air attack on their Northern Territories town of Darwin and a few shells on the farming town of Townsville. I don't think the Japanese knew or cared what sort of handguns were owned by the populace of those towns.

You really shouldn't broadcast the fact that you're mentally ill. You'll get your handgun permit revoked - even in America.
