I understand that the final tally was indeed some 500 votes in Bush's favor. So the Dem contention that GW stole the election is just plain rubbish.


Just plain rubbish? He won by 500 votes in a state with 16 million people where there was considerable evidence of electoral corruption. The only people who do not question whether Bush stole the election are those who voted for him.

If the Fla State Supreme Ct had been allowed to overturn the vote for Al, it is the Dems, who would have stole the election.

In WA state, when a race is close an automatic recount is required. That is typical in many states. It should have been a requirement in Florida as well. Five hundred votes is a statistical nothing in a state with millions.
