Liars figure and figures lie. The VA budget under Bush has increased 23% since he took office, helping to make up for years of neglect under William(the Coward)Clinton, who balanced the budget on the backs of the hated Military, and veterans. The statement Bush, or the Republicans, are cutting the VA are pure hogwash. Many Veterans organizations wanted a larger budget, who doesn't want more money, but they were suggested less by the House, including Democrats, and called it a sell out. This year alone the VA budget under Bush will increase 6.3%. Basically, some of the Vets groups are being used by the Demonut Party for political gain. Shame! These are the same idiots who claim , from the other side of their mouth, the Bush deficit is too high. No eligible veterans are turned away from medical service. The co-pay increase applies only to the veterans not disabled, and over the income threshold level. I am one of those, and I appreciate the what the VA offers me. My government does not owe me a cent for my service, but the VA does help with the medications. Believe it or not, there are some financial un-needy Vets with full medical coverage that prefer to use VA medical Facilities. If they are on Medicare the VA bills the Medicare for the treatment, or their insurer, but this group is on a first come first served basis. Veterans with service connected disabilities are first priority, those with incomes below a certain threshold are next. I am referring to those vets with no service connected disabilities. You will find their are many who claim service connected disabilities to bilk the system and they may go through a review process before their claim is settled. These are some of those you hear complaining about the VA. All veterans fall under a rating system of 1 to 8, where #1 are the most disabled and deserve, and receive the first priority for treatment. No's 7 and 8 are vets with non-service connected disabilities but are allowed VA services under certain conditions of income or illness. KM
