NPR had a poll that said hispanic voters had no reaction to the immigration plan when asked about their support for Bush in the upcoming election. The majority of hispanics are democrat and Bush registers a very low 30% approval rating in the hispanic community. My guess is it is the job loss issue again.

I agree with you about OBL btw. Bush's issues wrt getting re-elected are economic. People would love to see OBL captured but they will not change their views of Bush over that issue imho.

If the illegals are given legal status the Social Security System will be bankrupt alot sooner than expected. Right now these illegal workers do pay into the system but never take anything out ( not all but many of them pay in ). If they begin to draw we will have millions more that will be eligible for the payments in the future. Currently, they go back to Mexico with their money and forget about it.
