I think he aspires to be a water-walker, and that makes him looney by most definitions. Even with the right pontoons he'd keep falling in...

He isn't crazy. Just one of the fence walkers that amaze us, because they certainly don't have to work so hard to be lazy.

Actually he isn't. He's a political opportunist, just as he's an opportunist in everything else. He agrees with anything or anyone whose "thought" suits his agenda. You probably missed it, but he went through a long period of supporting right-wing conspiracy whackjobs.
