It's not the USSR five year programs but every year they form a panel and guess who's going to plant how many acres of what, what the yield will be and what the price will be. They haven't been even close since before Earl Butz was the Sec. of Ag., and a guy I knew, 50 years ago. Then the Ag. traders get on TV and parrot the same crap. It's about as accurate as predicting what I'll have for breakfast next July 4th. I do watch for the numbers behind the predictions. That's somewhat close.
