As I said, when only half the electorate votes, the Election Event is no longer a zero sum game. Do you understand how this trumps all assumptions about who the Nader voters were, in Florida? Assumptions which are themselves suspect?

It will be difficult to follow my line of argument, if one does not accept or understand that the Florida Election Event in 2000 (or most state's elections in 2000) was not a zero sum game.

Capital Gang claimed last nite said that nader cost Gore NH and Fl, either of which would have changed the result of the election. Now that we are at 50/50 continually between national parties, naders participation can cause exactly this same result again. Country must go to national vote and abolish electoral college. You cant have, on a regular basis, presidents elected who lose the national vote. The time has come to stop this. Much of the extreme-anti bush stuff stems from this belief that the election was stolen. It was stolen not by bush but by the system, but those folks are so angry they would rather just blame bush.
