I would have to download something to see the first link. Is it worth it? What's there? I have a new computer, so am being tender with it.

I've seen the stories on the second link before. Religion helps lots of people get through the night. There was one time in my life in which I was suffering a common fate with some religious women, and they were able to convince themselves that the tragedy that had befallen us all was "God's will," and it did comfort them. I was glad for them that they had that, whatever the truth-status of their belief.

Of course, the matter isn't a simple one, and I am very grateful to my parents for raising me as they did where religion is concerned, and to their parents for raising my parents as atheists, and to my greatgrandparents for raising my grandmother as a "Freethinker," and for my great great grandparents for the switch from Catholicism to Quakerism...

One always wants to be oneself and not someone else, I guess.
