Hmmmm...

Very interesting GST.

Do I take it that you hold the belief that we have in our midst a "potential" politician of first-rate stature and the capacity to both win your vote and persuade the rest of the world to "suffer" our leadership?

If so I commend your optimism, but I would not hold my breadth awaiting the presentation of this "potential" savior's credentials. ...I suspect that I'd be better off building up an armory and laying in a good supply of ammo to ward off his/her "supporters." <vbg>

American leadership in the world is in sharp decline.

Decline? What other nation can assemble a politico-military alliance consisting of over 60 nations??

What other nation consists of over 30% of the world's GDP?

It's not that US leadership is in decline.. If anything, US leadership is rising once again, AFTER HAVING BEEN IN DECLINE over the past 8 years.

Because leadership is not just about "getting along" with everyone and trying to make them happy. Leadership is about making difficult, and often unpopular, decisions. Decisions that might seem drastic and overbearing to others who think we should relegate ourselves to being part of the collective "group think" and endless debating society..

And leadership is not kow-towing to France, Germany, and Russia and permitting to continue propping up a regime that is in violation of it's obligations to the UN.
