VCR tape is, I believe, 1/2" wide, and VCR's I believe first became available in the late 70's. Prior to that, TV stations used large expensive machines using tape that was wider, typically 3/4" or more I think, since at least the 60's. I just wanted to correct the fool who flew off the handle on a wrong assumption concerning tape. Dan B.
