Good people. My not recognizing the root cause of jewish angst, you probably would fall into the latter. Jews who are worried are jews not with horns but with antennas. They are probably wrong but that doesnt in any way negate the fact that they have reason to worry, particular in europe where anti-semitism is alive and well. Just returned from a jewish/catholic wedding--rabbi and priest. Have two kids who married christians. Am very liberal yet conflicted on this. I was born in 1945 and 3/4 of my extended family was exterminated by Christians in europe. Yes nazis were in violation of everything that was christian but they had helper in germany, france, italy, and particularly in eastern europe where the bulk of my family perished. I grew up with nightmares of jews going into ovens, of jewish babies being thrown out of windows in the Ukraine to be speared by the bayonets of soldiers below. And so on. So pardon our oversensitivity even perhaps mine or perhaps just pardon the fear that history can repeat itself somewhere particularly in a time when anti-sermitism is on the rise. Thank God in America it seems to be a thing of the past. Your insensitivity and lack of understanding proves that and this note is really a complement to you for being beyond the hatred so please dont take this wrong. I hope it makes some sense to you as its very hard for me to express and write about. Mike
