Brian, that is an excellent post. It hits the nail squarely on the head. There is nothing we can do for our own salvation. We can't "decide" for ourselves to believe. We will NEVER "choose" God on our own. It's not in us. We love the darkness more than the light. Faith is not something that we control. It's God's sovereign choice. On one hand, Christianity says "it's all of God and nothing you do" and on the other they say "you'd better do something today because tomorrow might be too late". They can't have it both ways. GOD DOES NOT TRY - GOD DOES Exactly. Now if I could just get you to see that in the end, He will do all He says He will. 1 Timothy 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. Greetings Brian, and all who love the Lord Jesus Christ, A great message, full of biblical Truth for those who have " ears " to hear what the Spirit is saying. According to the Word of God, faith is either a gift from God, or a fruit of the Spirit....................We have absolutely NOTHING to do with it. Our salvation was determined by God before we were born, we, who have experienced the " new birth " , are recipients of the mercy of God. Thank You for your labouring to expose the many myths and fables that have been swallowed by gullible Christians, may The Lord richly bless you as you honor His Holy Word. Robert
