Buddy Jesus...hehe...wasn't that from Dogma?

Now, THAT would be a double feature...Gibson's movie, followed by Dogma. I'd pay big time to see the audience reaction...

I have had thought that the Reformation was all about letting individuals decide how to interpret the Scriptures. The Cathoilc Church at the time wished to be the sole arbiter of what they really meant. When we speak of christians today we speak of the results of the reformation not a monolithic group but a rather heterogeneous one. I'm always amused when christians quote the Old Testament as rationales for policy when Christ himself clearly stated that he was the New Testament thus replacing much of the Old Testament's rules of behavior.

"Anyone who is down with the Biblical Christian God (you know, the flood that wiped out pretty much everything, Job, all that hard to accept stuff) is branded a crackpot"

Pretty much any brand of Christianity at all makes JF want to puke. I am not a very devout Christian at all, and Prolife is pretty devout it seems. Both views make JF "want to puke", and I would suggest the intollerence described in your post is a very fitting description of JF.

He is not a nice person.
