Right off the top of my head - Canadians going ballistic over softwood tariffs, Australians and New Zealanders going ballistic over lamb tariffs, Chinese going ballistic over proposed sanctions for human rights violations, Mexicans going ballistic over the illegal alien issue and high dudgeon in general, especially Europeans, over the steel tariff.

My impression is that the Canadian refusal to cooperate against Iraq was payback for the softwood tariff more than anything else.

Definitely self-inflicted wounds, and from my perspective, unnecessary.
