They say they also don't think they should spend taxpayer dollars on higher-priced services, if lower-priced ones are available.

as people lose their jobs, govt revenues will fall (lower taxes), so govt organizations will seek to reduce costs via offshoring. it only makes sense, although reactionary protectionists will seek to stem the tide through legislation.

At least the higher-paid U.S. employees would be contributing to income tax rolls on U.S. soil.

but let's face it: paying some US worker 35K vs. paying an Indian 3K for the same work doesn't make sense. the US worker doesn't pay much tax anyway. certainly nothing like the $32,000 wage differential between himself and the Indian. eventually US must face the music that its workers are overpaid.

the result is: DEFLATION. combined with record debt, this will cause a global depression. this is actually a GOOD thing, because it will reduce commodity consumption and fossil fuel-related CO2 generation, thereby putting off the end of civilization due to global warming-induced Ice Age.

the best thing that could happen to the world right now is a massive depression. it's the only hope humanity's got for survival.
