I use the Bazooka Adware and Spyware Scanner.

dissoft.com

It's free, very fast and they update their database every couple of days.

In contrast to the free standard version of Ad-Aware, Bazooka will not remove the spyware or adware; but Bazooka will provide specific instructions on how to do so.

It's a 2 second very accurate scan.

If a person has tons of adware or spyware on their computer, I'd go with Ad-Aware. Bazooka is more geeky though.
