Best I can tell, the main benefit of driving a BMW is the edification one receives from the noise the doors make when they close. People who talk about that noise are known to be superior people.

When I first graduated I had an Acura Integra. It was a great car from a performance and reliability/TCO standpoint. Then I got a job in Austin that involved commuting every month or so from Austin to the bay area on interstate 5 or 40 (or a portion of route 66). When you spend a lot of time in a car like that, Acura integras don't cut it.
