Al,

re:What problems? What solar system byproducts?

Blocks of frozen water on my roof and the icicle formed when the fittings crack under cold weather. Without a compessor you just can't get the heat transfer to get the hot tub up to temperature here in the northwest.

Al Re.. What problems? What solar system byproducts?

With the roof systems, Eric already addressed some of the problems. If you take them off of the roof, location, space, acces to sun become problems. Endemic to the solar electric panels, is low efficiency, use of rare, and hazardous chemicals, cost of storage, and hazardous wastes, especially when you replace the batteries.
