I read your housing costs post and reflected on the steel tariffs that were imposed by the US recently and shortly thereafter rescinded. As we know steel prices have gone nuts. It now occurs top me that lumber products from Canada that were assessed 30% tariffs by the US about a year and a half ago may soon be reconsidered in light of the fact that these tariffs have inevitably driven up home prices in the US.
More fundamentally, I have a problem with the short sightedness of this administration and regulators. They appear to be running around frantically sticking fingers in rapidly appearing dyke holes.
