2002, US invested $23 billion for Canadian mines, resources methinks US is doing both investing in Canadian, AND annexing Iraqi oil I have heard the $23B figure several times but not the 2004 figure some upcoming (possibly ongoing) big investments are proceeding in Canadian Maritimes also unsure what the dispute is over, re Heinz wanted to stick my two cents in I have been aware of the vast Tar Sands project in Athabasca for two years now give some credit to Stanford Univ engineers they have driven down production costs from $20/b to $9/b last I checked, that was from 1995 to 2002 give credit to Suncor also they have embarked on a monstrous expansion program to quintuple oil production from 100,000b/day to 500kb/day / jim

Eva, A few years back US energy companies were buying Canadian energy companies at a breakneck pace. My largest holding Gulf Canada went to Connoco. They are selling a bit off now due to Loonie strength... but JW is right they are doing both. They obviously just don't feel the need to invade us... not yet at any rate ;o) Also don't forget the geopolitical angle of securing mideast oil now that China is ravenous for Texas Tea.. Realpolitik anyone ... Just some humble mewing... Spots... EDIT BTW double up on DZRa.TO today @ .69 investorshub.com
