The weird thing about the Observer piece on the Pentagon scenario, is that the writer must not actually have any experience reading peer-reviewed scientific publications on environmental issues - or maybe doesn't understand how the Department of Defense actually works. The Pentagon gets its scientists from the same places everybody else does, and these scientists publish their theories in the same publications everybody else does. I definitely recognized the ideas before I even read the disclaimer.

As for Fauntleroy - the state of NY could serve him via an order of publication, that is, put an ad in the local classifieds for several weeks. Of course, they'd have to track him down to get their money -- but my guess is that they'll never see that anyway.

Extradition from St. Lucia - hmm, on a civil matter? No.
