Hi Ed: Busy with quite a few other things at the moment. Also, waiting to see the developments in the interesting scenario: -- US will want to get agreements in place for military bases BEFORE June 30 with their puppet government (con-man on the run Chelabi and friends) -- Shiites do not want such agreements to be made by other than an elected government -- Handover has to be to somebody--who will it be? -- UN being suckered into potential role as somebody to blame for what goes on after June 30 ("Gee, everything was in good shape when we handed over to UN but it has turned to dogshit since then.....") -- The dynamic amongst the Shiites, Suunis and Kurds is potentially explosive to say the least. The possibility of dividing the country relative to oil assets leaves the Suunis with the Capital city and no such oil assets--not something that they are going to accept. The main unifying force MAY be "Let's collaborate to get rid of the Occupiers". -- Horrifying events of one kind or another will probably be timed strategically relative to the US election. One such focal point, I think, will be the Republican Convention. -- IF the Democrats have ANY guts whatsoever, they should be able to mount a devastating campaign against Bush on many fronts. Just because that is potential, however, does not mean it will happen. They are in bed with so many of the same business-whores as the Republicans, the election may be fought around trivial items, while ignoring the items of substance that at too messy to talk about because they could be accused of the same things they are decrying.
