Has anybody experienced this problem? I have a DELL desktop, not even two years old, Windows XP Home Edition, lots of memory and hard drive space etc. Lately it has started to shut itself down after five or ten minutes of inactivity. It doesn't just go into sleep mode, the screen just goes black and will not light back up when you move the mouse or hit a key. The only thing that seems to restart it is to unplug, plug back in, then push the on button on the CPU. Even CTR-ALT-DEL won't wake it up. Virus definitions are up to date, virus scan shows no viruses. I have twice reset the Control Panel settings so it is not on power save mode (selecting "never" for hibernation mode and monitor shutoff).

What could be causing this, and how can I fix it? I know I can do a system restore but I don't want to go through the hassle of backing up or moving recent files unless I have to.
