I think the sort of person who objects about the political beliefs of Jane Fonda is already a hard core Bush supporter.

Lots people were on the same "Veitnam bad" side as Fonda back then and view her as someone who stood up for what she believed in - even if somewhat misguided.

Trying to slur Kerry as "Hanoi John" will backfire for the Republicans. All the Dems have to do is hammer away at the fact that Kerry earned THREE purple hearts while during the same time C in C Bush drank 3000 purple daiquiri's at the country club. Kerry will come out looking like a hero and Bush will look like he just knows how to fling mud.
