Seems like this passage from the Declaration of Independence could be construed to mean that there was a religious basis for these "secular rights" you think our country was based on.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness"

"...and a separation of church and state."

This has been blown way out of proportion by the secularists that are trying to redefine America. There is a separation of church and state to be sure. Here is the entire passage for the 1st Amendment:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the exercise thereof"

Such a simple statement is now interpreted to mean that a school calendar cannot have the Christmas holiday in it. It is disgusting how the activist judges and liberal secularists have twisted this logical and straightforward amendment.
