I keep telling life-time Dems that the moderate voters who swing between candidates in either party always determine the outcome of American Presidential elections. The vast majority of the electorate is polarized to the left or the right. Moderates on either side can be wooed by differences between candidates. This yr, the fact that Edwards does not have the 19yr-extremely liberal voting record of Kerry is a major advantage. If only Dem voters would realize that fact, they would have a chance to beat Bush. They don't want to hear it, because the media managed to manipulate the 1st few states that held primaries, by ridiculing their 1st choice, Howard Dean. Dem voters looked around & were then hoodwinked by Kerry campaign into believing most voters would worship him because of Vietnam. That is a completely incorrect impression because he cancelled out his medals by becoming more of a friend to Hanoi than to his fellow-soldiers still dying in Vietnam jungles at the time. Hopefully, this Thurs debate in CA will open their eyes to the opportunity they have for victory with Edwards. Otherwise, get ready to see Kerry evolve, once campaign is fully underway, from supposed war hero into a protesting traitor(& heiress hunter) in the eyes of the majority of voters.
